We may share information with third parties such as the venue for dietary or special access requirements and your finance department for invoicing.  If required, we will also share your attendance with the relevant CPD authority.

Your name, organisation/hospital and/or geographical location will also appear on your name badge. These details are taken from those that you input into the registration form when registering for the event.

A list of all attendees are added to our Conference App which is only available to registered delegates and exhibitors. Once you have downloaded the app, you can set which details you wish to be visible, including your full name, email address, organisation/hospital, geographical location or social media handles. Name and organisation/hospital are the default visible details.

Where you provide us with personal information about someone else

If you provide us with someone else’s personal information by registering them as a delegate, you should only do so if you have their consent.

Photographs and videos

Photographs and videos may be taken during sessions, break times, exhibition and social events which may be shared on our website, social media and BSSH Member Bulletin.  If you wish to be excluded from photographs and/or videos, please contact us by emailing secretariat@bssh.ac.uk prior to the event start date.

The Lion Project Donation


The Lilongwe Institute of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery (LION) is a new purpose built healthcare facility for treating injured Malawi patients free of charge. It is attached to the Kamuzu Central Hospital, in Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi, which serves a catchment population of several million people.

 

For five years, the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and the British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT) will assist LION in the delivery of life transforming treatment for elective and traumatic conditions of the hand.

 

Recruited volunteers will collaborate with local staff in the running of specialist hand clinics and regular hand trauma and elective lists, aiming to become self-sufficient in the provision of specialist hand services by the end of the project.

 

The cost of this is approximately £100K per year, and therefore, all donations are gratefully received.

Requests for refund will be accepted according to the postmark date or the date received by letter or e-mail. Cancellations received: Up to 14 days prior to a meeting. Full refund less 10% admin charge. Less than 14 days prior to the meeting. 50% refund of registration fees. Dinners cancelled within 14 days of the meeting will not be entitled to a refund. In the event of the Society cancelling a meeting a full refund will be given.
